Ventimilla school building
We want to build a classroom on the school in Loma Grande and equip it with computers, internet and books to enable the children to have access to these types of media. This will encourage and develop their learning and aid them to acheive their full potential
May 2011 - June 2012
Charity information: The Mashi Foundation
The children are very disadvantaged by the education they currently receive. They have no access to the internet, or computers to develop their skills. Once they reach the age to go to secondary school, they are very behind in their learning. These children live in poverty and have no possibilty of accessing these resources without help.
We will be able to meet the children's needs in terms of developing their education and acheivement. This in turn will enable them to see a life outside of poverty and empower them to achieve this for themselves and their family.
To huild a classroom
Activities» To raise money to build the classroom.
What success will look like
Success will be the construction of the classroom
We will be able to very clearly evidence the success of this project by the increased academic acheivement of these children.
To not receive enough funding for the materials to build the classroom.
If this is the case, the plans will be put on hold for this academic year to give the charity time to raise more money.
I will be able to give regular updates and photos of the development of this project. I would also hope to forge links between the donors and the school, with correspondance from and to the children of the school.

We are working in a rural community called Loma Grande which is about 3 hours outside of Quito, the capital city of Ecuador, South America.
the children of the community will benefit as well as their wider families.
We are already working in this community and have very good working relationships with the locals. We have a nursery already up and running in that community which has been very successful. The community are trusting of the charity and we work in partnership with them.
