Thames Pictorial.

Create a diagramatic map of the River Thames as it is today but modeled on the outline of Stamfords Oarsman's Map of the River published in the 19th century. Illustrated in a contemporary mode as was the Stamford was. the project will include sewage works outflows and public water abstraction sites.

    Need

    The purpose of the project is to illustrate the water makeup of a river, so as to allow the understandin to be aided graphically.

    It will involve people from communities along the Thames and tap into many different ethnic and educational areas; such as chemistry, biology, art, music and literature.

    Solution

    The published map and the work that will have been collected in the development of the scheme will be put online and exhibited at various points along the river.

    The longterm legacy will be left with the commities and in the tangible production of the map.

    Risk

    there is little risk in the event not reaching a considered conclusion. The only thing that may hold or change the project may be the diversity of the expressions may need to allow for more than one map. the actual initial concepts may need to change to be responsive to the development of those involved.

    Reporting

    The project would be visible from day one on its own website so as the research and feelings develop it will aulter and grow.
