Need
Need
Mobility issues, bladder and bowel management disadvantage young people affected by spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus from accessing social and leisure activities within their own communities. Hydrocephalus can affect communication and social interaction skills which can affect the ability to make and sustain friendships. Due to the complex disabilities, additional support is required to lead an independent life, especially during a transition period.
Solution
Ongoing- people who have spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus need access to these services. Those who have been on the project have achieved outcomes within 6 months.
