  • Need

The project will address the unsanitary conditions that many rural communities currently live in Bangladesh. It will also address the fact that many drink from dirty water sources often causing disease.

The provision of purified water will demonstrate to these communities a healthier way of living. Training will be given to all in the communties who would like to take part. The training will consist of health and safety where sanitaion is concerned, and how these people can produce their own clean water once the project has left the area. We will also meet with local NGO's who will be able to supply for cheap materials for water purification once we have left.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Launch an awareness campaign with materials that can be distributed throughout rural communities.

» Give training to people within rural communities so that they hold the knowledge needed to make an educated choice
» Meet with and introduce local NGO's to key members of the community to provide cheap materials for purifying water into the future.
» Provide in depth training to key community members with regards to monitoring and helping their fellow residents about clean water.
» Provide education and awareness around sanitation.

Success will be local people using the facility and becoming interested in wanting to learn more about maintaining the intake of clean water.

    Aim 2

Provide education and awareness around sanitation.

» Launch an awareness campaign with materials to distribute within communities to increase knowledge regarding sanitation issues.
» Provide training to educate residents of rural communities about the issues of unhygienic sanitation and how to remedy this enabling educated choice

Success will be that on future monitoring the majority of the communities visited will still be using the skills that they learnt on their training.

  • Impact

Long term changes in behaviour will enable people to live healthier lives and raise their children in the knowledge that they are safe from many diseases caused by unsanitary conditions and unclean water.
Charity memebers will visit communites into the future to assess how many people carry on to use the practices they learnt and assess the prevelance of diseases caused by water and sanitation.

Natural disaster and extreme weather, could affect this project.
we will dealt with this risk by keep staff aware of weather reports.
