AIA educational scholarships

A scholarship for British and Israeli students to study in each other's country to create a better understanding between our two countries. The Middle East is a complicated subject that effects us all, the idea is for young people to come to understand each other's challenges whilst studying.

  • Need

The often inaccurate and misleading coverage of Israel and the Middle East leading to demonisation and hatred.

Students from Britain and Israel will study in each other's country to gain a better understanding of each other. Scholars will write articles and give lectures in various fora after their visit in order to share what they have learnt.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Create a better understanding between our two countries - Britain and Israel.

» Create educational scholarships for students to visit each other's country.
» Students will write articles and give lectures to share their experiences
» Bring British and Israeli scholars together to exchange views

    What success will look like

Success will be receiving 100 applications from all over the UK to study in Israel and vice versa

  • Impact

Students will be able to challenge and explain the misperceptions on Israel and the Middle East at their campuses with a view to improving the current climate of animosity.

There is a risk that students will not fulfil their commitment. We will deal with this risk by interviewing the candidates and by seeking their approval by their universities.

Donors will receive a report once we have selected the candidates to let them know who has received a scholarship, this will be followed up by a report from the candidate.
