Orphan Village Project
An eco friendly ‘village’ for orphans in Delhi. The village will be self contained with 24 housing units, each accommodating 12 children; as well as a functioning school & play area. The children will be cared for by widowed 'live-in mothers'; providing a safe home for the most vulnerable.
Orphans In Need
One of the most important things in an orphan’s life is a safe and secure roof over their head. Currently, there are over 65 million orphans in Asia alone, many of which are in India. Millions of these orphans have no mother, father, relative or carers to look after them, and as a consequence are forced to live on the streets and fend for themselves. Not only do they suffer from inadequate nutrition and disease; but they suffer the further indignity of exploitation and child abuse.
The Village will house hundreds of orphans who have no parents or carers and have found themselves all alone. Many of these children will have spent their lives in the slums that exist in and around the major urban areas of India. We hope the upbringing, care, love and education they receive will turn their lives around and take them out of the cycle of poverty which would otherwise blight their futures.
Hundreds of orphans who have lost their parents will be accommodated
Activities» By placing them within an 'orphan home' with ‘live-in mothers’ who are capable of providing the love, care and guidance that a child needs.
