Alice's Very Important Tea Party Appeal
The perfect ballet wouldn't be complete without tea and cake. The perfect ballet wouldn't be complete without sets, costumes, music and dancers. A creation of a brand new ballet is the highlight of our year but we need your help to support the creation of our new production of Alice.
February 2011 - June 2011
Creating a brand new ballet involves many months of planning and preparation. There are over 70 costumes to create, plus a brand new orchestral score, the sets to build, not to mention the choreographing of the steps. All this costs to create so we need your help to contribute to making our new production of Alice look as fabulous as possible.
By donating to Alice's very important tea party appeal you will have made a contribution to the creation of this brand new production.
To raise £15,000 towards the costs of Scottish Ballet's new production of Alice.
Activities» This new producion of Alice will open in Glasgow on 12 April 2011 and will tour to Edinburgh, Inverness, Cardiff and Aberdeen.
Raising as much as possible to contribute to the costs of this new production.
New work is the life-blood for the dancers. Successful new productions give dancers the chance to create roles from scratch and give everyone an opportunity to be part of the creative process. This in turn leads to inspired dancers, a fantastic behind the scenes team and great performances that ensure that Scottish Ballet is a truly inspiring company for audiences.
We may not raise all the money. However, we have attracted other sources of support - particularly from Adam and Company who have agreed to sponsor the tour of Alice.
We look forward to keeping donors up to date with how the production is coming together via email or by inviting them into our headquarters in Glasgow.

Scottish Ballet's new production of Alice is being created at Scottish Ballet's headquarters at Tramway in Glasgow. It will premiere on 12 April and then tour the UK.
During 2009/10 the Company presented a total of 87 performances to just under 75,000 people across the UK. This was supported by a wide-ranging complementary education and engagement programme, which touched the lives of a further 15,000 people.
Scottish Ballet is Scotland's national dance company. It has created its reputation by presenting story ballets in a new and contemporary way using classical ballet technique. The creative team behind Alice (choreographed by Ashley Page OBE, designed by Antony Macdonald, music by Robert Moran) have successfully collaborated with critically acclaimed and popular productions before, like The Nurcracker and Cinderella.
