The Training and Learning Company
  • Need

    Need

A shortage of work experience and voluntary placements for people with a range of disabilities. Although there are some availble they usually have a criteria that means that beneficiaries have to be capable of rehabilitation into work, this excludes many people who may never be able to gain or maintain employment but who could do a few hours of work each week and who would gain a very positive experience as a result.

    Solution

The project will provide extra placements without the rehabilitation criteria, though we will happy to accept people with rehabilitation potential if they can not find placements at existing projects. It is also proposed to develop on the lines of a social enterprise so the majority of income is earned income and will not be reliant on statutory funding.
