Worldwide Veterinary Service

  • Need

Veterinary orientated assistance seems to be an area where nearly all animal charities and sanctuaries struggle to obtain help. Veterinary medicines, supplies and equipment are extremely expensive but are essential for the welfare of the animals in their care. In some Countries veterinary resources are scarce and there is a great need for medicines, equipment and even basic supplies.

When charities register with Worldwide Veterinary Service for assistance they are asked to submit a wish list of the items they are in need of.

WVS has created strong links with many different pharmaceutical companies and individual veterinary practices who now donate their short dated / unwanted stock.

We are then able to match up the donations of supplies and equipment we receive in to where they are needed most.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To provide a vital and sustainable veterinary resource to charities in need.

» WVS team will aim to respond to all requests for veterinary supplies and will have a proactive approach, contacting charities to find out their needs

Success will be...providing veterinary aid to as many of our 400 associated charities as possible (accurate records are kept of all charities assisted).

    Aim 2

To send out a minimum total value of £300,000 in veterinary supplies

» In 2010 WVS sent out a total value of £215,807.99 - by seeking further donations of vital supplies from supporters we aim to reach this target.

Success will be...reaching / excessing the £300,000 goal. (Accurate records are kept of the value of each donation parcel sent out).

  • Impact

Our long term aim is that by providing a sustainable veterinary resource to these charities the welfare of the animals in their care will improve. The charities will be better prepared to deal with veterinary cases making them more efficient and effective overall.

This project is reliant on donations of veterinary supplies from our supporters. The main risk to the project is therefore a lack of donations of supplies, and also, financially, the costs of shipping the donation parcels.

We have created links with some of the biggest veterinary pharmaceutical companies, some of which who exclusively donate their products to WVS. This helps to ensure an ongoing and steady supply of stock.

Accurate records are kept of each charity helped and the value of supplies they received. Donors receive a report of what charities were helped and the value of supplies sent. We also include thank you letters, emails and photos from the charities who have benefited.

  • Why Us?

    Why Us?

WVS has forged links with many different veterinary pharmaceutical companies and individual veterinary practices over the last 7 years so we have a good incoming supply of veterinary equipment.

We now have over 400 charities registered with us for veterinary assistance and an accurate record of their requirements so are well placed to be able to send supplies to where they are needed most.
