Help Elderly Local People Scheme (HELPS)
The Big idea of HELPS is to focus on the individual rather than the problem, promoting all aspects of healthy living to counter the negative mental and physical effects of ageing. We focus on social inclusion, rebuliding confidence, challenging poverty, promoting mental & physical dexterity.

What success will look like
Success will be...helping over 700 people become more active over the next 5 years, taking part in healthy living activities. 60% of our users will feel safer and less isolated.
HELPS addresses all four principles of Reaching Communities of "improving urban environments" and enabling people to have a "better chance in life" but it particularly ensures that in the long term there will be more active people and a stromger community with more active citizens working together to tackle their problems.
We will demonstrate our success by the number of people that have joined the scheme over time and are living more active lives as a result.
One major risk is the unavailability of funds to ensure that services can still be delivered to the users.
