Educational opportunities for home educators

Home educating families are passionate about giving a good start to their children but receive no support from Local Education Authorities; many are on a low income. New Foundations provides educational and social opportunities to these families to help nurture their children's learning.

The project is open ended

  • Need

    Need

Children who are home educated lack social and educational opportunities especially for large group activities, many also have special needs such as Aspergers Syndrome, ADHD, Dyspraxia and Dyslexia to name a few. It is hard for these children to access team work in play, sport or academic attainment.

    Solution

By providing educational opportunity in the form of science, music, maths, english, sports and anything there is a demand for as well as social opportunity by providing equipment such as pool table, table tennis, games, computers where otherwise isolated children can meet and socialise with others in the same situation.

    Aim 2

To provide social opportunities to home educated children

    Activities

    Aim 3

    Activities

» Providing a safe place to meet and network.

Success will be...when parents are openly sharing skills, information and educational theories.

  • Impact

    Impact

Home educated children will have access to educational and social opportunities which will help them to progress their educations and develop social skills. Success will demonstrated by Home educated children going forward to pass exams and develop long term friendships.

    Risk

The main risk to the project would be failure to achieve funding. We are dealing with this by maximising our ability to raise funds via selling donated items such as books, selling lunches ect.

    Reporting

Donors will be invited to view the project, records are kept of attendence to report back to donors, pictorial records are obtained and feedback from service users.
