North Warwickshire is an Rural area with three large market towns and various villages, there is a mixture of age groups with a number of people who are unemployed, and due to poor transport links can feel isolated. We have done a garden buddy project maintianing gardens for elderely residents, and this has shown tha their are edlerley with tools that are no longer used.
The unemployed will benefit as they will be able to volunteer on a project that will utilise tools that ae no longer used. People in the community will have acces to tools that will be given free so will help them financially to have garden tools to be able to grow their own produce with. The environment will benefit by recycling tools and also wood fro the furniture making.
We are best placed because we already have good contacts with people in the community, with the local council with the libraries, we also have volunteers who would want to do this project and a member of staff who has handyman skills who is able to look at how to rennovate items and make garden furniture. We also have the garden buddy project which gives us contact with people who may want garden furniture.
