The project aims to work on housing estates and in conjunction with the police get youth to work on recovered bicycles. They will learn bike maintenance by working on these bikes and their own and by attending sufficient sessions can keepthe bicycle they have worked on or earn parts for their own.

Teaching basic life skills
Provide safe bicycles
Provide bicyles for those without
Attract new cyclists
Running a long term programme with a definitive goal of getting a new bicycle or parts for their own bike will teach commitment if nothing else.
Children often have badly maintained bikes and frequently either stop riding when the bike becomes unusable or continue riding on an unsafe bike.
Even trivial problems like punctures can mean they stop riding.
Teach basic bicycle maintenance to young people
Activities» Run basic bicycle maintenance lessons
Teach and assess bicycle maintenance to an approved level - AQA qualifications.
Equip youth with well maintained bicycles
Activities» Allow them to obtain quality spare parts and access to tools to maintain their bicycles
Assessing the state of bicycles through out the project and beyond with the aim of running a social ride from the estate.
To boost cycling uptake in the area the project is run in.
Increase cycling rates to school, increase physical activitiy, make cycling a normal way to get about the estate by adults and childre alike.
Maintain a constant supply of bicycles and parts.
With close links with the police we believe the supply of bikes and to a lessor extents parts is solved.
With the sale of bikes restored a small income stream will be generated to purchase new parts as and when needed.
Volunteer time to ensure the sessions always happen as agreed is a risk, so we will engage local champions on the estates.
We have a good track record of reporting projects back to donors as well as well as getting candidates to produce their own feedback, be that a film or posters.
