Recycling to generate funds

We are developing income streams of which we have control. One of the areas we wish to expand id our retail operation but we need a van based at our Immingham shop where we have opened a small funiture annexe. The van is vital to enable us to collect donations and deliver them to the shop.

    The movement of donations of good to maximise potential shop sales, which in turn will fund the care of patients.


    Work to increase the volume of sales within the shop network.

    To increase the percentage of income generated by sales of donated furniture.


    » Purchase a suitable vehicle to transport the furniture to suitable locations.

    Increased income which will be used to fund patient care.

  • Impact


    Start to give us more control over our finances generated from retail, to enable us to plan for the future and ensure services continue to be provided to patients who need Hospice care.


    We will ensure that the people collecting and delivering goods receive the correct manual handling training and that a tail lift is installed into the van.


    We produce an annual review, and our activities and work are constantly featured in the local press. The van will have a complete livery wrap to maximise the PR value and encourage additional public support as it travels throughout the catchment area.

  • Background


    We operate a childrens and adult Hospice - the catchment area for adult services is North East Lincolnshire, whilst for the children's services we cover the whole of Lincolnshire, Hull and East Yorkshire.


    Everone will benefit from the recycling aspect in terms of reducing landfill. Patients and their families needing to access Hospice care will benfit as the project will generate funds needed to fund their care.

    Why Us?

    We are the major local charity within our catchment area and have the support of local people who want to help us to continue to provide services. WE have a large volunteer workforce without whom the project would not be viable. It is the negligible overheads which make our reatil operation so profitable.

    We have a group of about 6 volunteer drivers who collect donations from local people and deliver them either to the Hospice or directly to our shops.
