Rehabilitation Centre for Boys and Young Men
The boys and young men rescued by Odanadi are currently living in temporary structures. Odanadi needs £100k to build a permanent, high quality rehabiltation centre in which the boys can live and can continue to receive the highest quality care and rehabilitation.
Fundraising for the building has just begun. The building will be developed in stages, depending on the resources available.
Charity information: Odanadi UK
Odanadi is called to rescue several boys and young men each year from exploitative situations such as bonded labour and domestic servitude, into which they have been trafficked. As well as being held as virtual slaves, these boys and young men often suffer from appalling sexual abuse.
These boys are currently living in temporary structures and whilst they are receiving the best quality care and support from Odanadi, they would obviuosly benefit from having a decent home.
Provide permanent accommodation for the boys and young men who have been rescued by Odanadi.

What success will look like
Success will be the boys and men living in a purpose built home and rehabilitation centre with basic amenities including running water, toilets and bathrooms.
The project will enable Odanadi to provide high quality housing to the boys and young men it rescues. This will mean that it is better able to provide rehabilitation services to them as it will have purpose built facilities to make this possible. In addition, the building will mean that additional accommodation will be available meaning that more boys and young men can be rescued from teh most appalling situations.
The key risk is not raising sufficient funding to enable the building to be fully completed. Odanadi has encountered this situation before when it built the rehabiltation centre for the girls and young women. This centre was built in stages, using a lot of volunteer labour. The architects also worked pro-bono to design the building (in conjunction with the residents) and oversee the project management of the build process. This will be the case again, thus substantially reducing costs.
Odanadi UK produces regular newsletters providing detailed information about project activities and progress towards project milestones. In addition, we report to donors using specific reporting formats as requested. If donors have specific reporting requirements, these can be accommodated.

Mysore, Karnataka, South India
Young men and boys from impoverished, poorly-educated and often illiterate backgrounds, often drawn from the lowest castes and tribal communities in Northern Karnataka and wider India. They have been trafficked into a range of exploitative situations including bonded and domestic labour. They are also often subjected to horrendous sexual abuse and violence. It is not always possible for them to be rehabilitated back to their families and communities and need housing and rehabilitation.
Odanadi has been engaged in this work for 20 years. It is uniquely placed to understand the needs of these boys and young men having worked with this client group continuously since its creation.
