  • Need

Our activities aim to overcome predjudices about children learning outdoors and build on positive outdoor experiences. Our activities support learning difficulties and behavioural problems as well as mainstream education in the classroom.

Our activities will aim to raise awareness about the importance of the environment, biodiversity and sustainability. By giving children these experiences today, we hope they will go on to develop a passion for protecting the natural world in the future. We run a variety of outdoor education programmes including Forest Schools, which supports SEN education and disengaged young people.

  • Impact

The project will give disadvantaged children the opportunity to learn new skills and develop their self confidence, increase their educational attainment and understanding, enjoy new experiences, form new friendships, have fun outdoors and make real improvements to their local environment. We will demonstrate success of the project by summarising responses, comments and feedback from people engaged and how their experiences have made a dofference to them personally.

There is a risk that no-one could take part in the project. This would be dealt with by adequate promotion and marketing to the right audiences.
Severe weather also affects levels of participation, we would provide alternative activities to mitigate against this.

We will provide a summary of the project, outlining successes and areas for improvement at the end of the year
