The Resound Cente

Our Church in Mangotsfield/Emerson’s Green is no longer large enough to accommodate the growing church membership and activities. The new Resound Centre will be a place of worship and community arts centre, engaging with the community and bringing about change for local residents.

  • Need

    Need

Our current dilapidated church building is no longer in use and is an eyesore. It is not large enough to accommodate our growing church membership and the work we want to do reaching out into the community.

There are no similar facilities within the area and people have to travel into the centre of Bristol for arts, musical and theatre performances.

    Solution

The Resound Centre will be home to our growing family congregation, an established preschool, and a new community centre for the arts. With a creative congregation, the Centre will mark a new and exciting direction for the church in terms of community engagement and mission.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To reach out into the community

    Activities

» To rebuild our community church building - the Resound Centre - as a place of worship and a community arts centre

Success will be achieving the design and build of a new church community building and seeing people using it.

  • Impact

    Impact

We will see an active church and lively growing congregation with many local people using the facilities either on a one-off or regular basis. It will be used for public performances.

    Risk

The contractor could fall behind schedule with the build. The total cost of the project needs to be carefully managed so that we do not exceed our budget. We will ensure adequate and regular detailed communication with our quantity surveyor and contractor to keep the project to budget and on time.

    Reporting

We will provide regular financial and narrative update reports, together with an annual report and accounts and more frequent email bulletins where appropriate.
