New Children's Transport
To buy a hybrid people carrier to transport the desperately vulnerable children in our care. We need to take them to medical appointments and to enjoy after-school activities as well as Outward Bound trips and week-end outings.
January 2018 - January 2018
Charity information: The Mulberry Bush
This will help the transportation of the tragic, vulnerable, traumatised children in our care. To build their self confidence the children attend Forest School and a variety of other extra-curricular activities which other children take for granted, as well as going on an annual Outward Bound holiday, camping trips , weekend outings etc. We also ferry them to and from home for the school holidays.
Buying a new people carrier will enable us to take all the children out at the same time. Currently we do not have enough vehicles to do this as one vehicle needs to be available for our Outreach staff to go to mainstream schools to train teachers to look after the challenging children in their classes by using our highly evolved specialist methods. We are keen to increase the use of low emissions vehicles around children, who are the most vulnerable to respiratory problems etc.
To be able to take out at the same time all the tragic, traumatised, vulnerable children in our care
Activities» We will buy a new hybrid people carrier to transport the children.
The children's self confidence will grow and they will be able to enjoy many more experiences.
Making fewer children remain in care, be excluded from school, develop mental health problems or commit crimes. Helping them from the earliest stage to nurture the skills they need to cope with life’s challenges and flourish and enable them to live in families and go to appropriate schools.
Even if we cannot afford to buy a hybrid people carrier outright from the proceeds of this initiative, we will fund raise for the outstanding sum. We are keen to go green with our vehicles.

Located on one outstanding rural site at The Mulberry Bush School in Standlake near Witney in Oxfordshire. The children who this project will be helping come from all over England and Wales.
It will benefit all the children who attend the Mulberry Bush School, a therapeutic non-maintained residential special school, National Teaching School and National Support School, working with vulnerable and severely traumatised primary aged children some of whom are orphans, from across England and Wales.
We provide therapeutic treatment through care and education for the most emotionally distressed children in the country. Their misery has been caused by violence, bereavement, inadequate care, emotional, sexual or physical abuse. With great patience, reassurance and skilled care provided at the Mulberry Bush, these children are gradually encouraged to a stage where possibly for the first time in their lives they can learn to trust and respect themselves and others, establishing ordinary lives
