Indigo works with people, particularly the young to develop access/participation in creative practice/experience; achieved through regular arts workshop provision, performance, consultancy & advice.
Creativity is inherent in all humanity. . . Yet we begin a process of unlearning the ability to create from early childhood. Pushed into the background of mainstream education, the opportunity to access & explore creative and artistic potential is always limited, and often denied. The result of this process? A society frustrated, bent on destruction and lacking in imagination.
It is vital that the creative process is encouraged & nurtured; that the journey of the imagination is allowed to continue unhindered by the constraints & barriers of uniformity and categorisation; that the value of individuality is recognised and celebrated.
Indigo was set up to redress the balance; to provide opportunity & access to resources, support, experience & knowledge; to fulfill creative potential; to explore the individual; to take up the journey, wherever it may lead. '
Indigo Arts aims to:
- inspire creative practice in education & leisure time activities
- enhance the creative potential of able & disabled individuals through arts related projects
- encourage the development of creativity & the arts within community settings & education
