Provides free City and Guilds, level 3, media training to disabled and disadvantaged adults, promoting team building, boosting self esteem and instilling a work ethic in a fun and practical way.

  • Mission statement

    Our aim is to provide the resources and opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people to engage more fully within society and realise their potential, principally through access to media, employment, training and education.

    Our vocational course builds self esteem, confidence, social skills, team building skills. It promotes independence and independent life long learning, organisational skills, problem solving skills. Students will gain education/ training, friendships, coping strategies, work experience, a positive attitude and outlook, life skills and an internationally recognised qualification. For many of our service users this will be their first chance to realise life opportunities.

    Essex Media Workshop is unique in the way we tackle the effects of low self esteem and related issues. There are many pockets of multiple deprivation within our geographical area and, as such, we are able to easily reach those that are in most need of our help. Essex Media Workshop was formed by the disadvantaged for the disadvantaged. All service users have a voice within the organisation and the opportunity to form policy.
