Ambassadors Football

Ambassadors in Sport is a global charity that since 1990 has existed to bring about transformation in individuals and communities through its 'football faith future' outreach programmes.

Founded 1997

  • Mission statement

Ambassadors in Sport runs and facilitates football projects that build bridges across cultural, faith, ethnic and postcode divides, providing support, resources and training in order to invest in communities and empower volunteers, interns, staff and churches to start new initiatives that lead to tangible social change.

For over 20 years Ambassadors has used football as a language and a bridge to influence and change the lives of people who are marginalised, vulnerable and hurting. Working in a non-judgmental and inclusive way, Ambassadors develop partnerships with churches and other community based organisations, enabling staff and volunteers to build trust and relationships with young people through football based education. Football becomes the vehicle for building self-esteem, developing life skills challenging destructive behaviours, stimulating personal growth and discovering potential. In the process barriers of race, faith, sexuality, social background, poverty and educational attainment are broken down and participants are supported to face the future with confidence and determination.
