The Brunswick Town Charitable Trust

The Trust aims to promote knowledge and appreciation of the architecture and history of the Regency period, mostly through the development of The Regency Town House Heritage Center in Brighton & Hove.

Founded 1992

  • Mission statement

The key objectives of the Trust and The Regency Town House project (www. Rth. Org. Uk) are threefold:

    * Raise the profile of Brighton & Hove as a historic location.
    * Encourage the better preservation of the city's built heritage.
    * Foster a wider appreciation of Regency architecture and history.

To these ends we work to provide visitors with access to a traditionally refurbished historic home (currently undergoing conservation), to offer a programme of events about the history and architectural heritage of Brighton & Hove, and to develop digital resources relating to life in the Regency period.

We also stage outreach events aimed at a mix of groups, there range from CPD sessions for building professionals through to hands-on activities for local schoolchildren.

Our work has received funding from the EC and the HLF, as well as gaining the support of several highly respected independent charitable trusts and foundations.

Recently, the Trust has routinely funded the largest Heritage Open Days event staged annually - Brighton & Hove Open Door. Currently, the Trust is supporting the MyHouseMyStreet project, which reveals the past occupants of historic homes across Brighton & Hove (see, www. Mhms. Org. Uk).
