  • Mission statement

The Epona trust registered charity works throughout Europe removing ponies and horses from crisis. Dedicated to helping all animals in need of sanctuary our network of homes and associated charities helps provide immediate care for animals in distress. Our aim is to stop the unnecessary slaughter of ponies and horses throughout Europe. By creating a licence fee for all stallions the indiscriminate breeding of foals born each year will diminish and will help. To make the breeding of equine for the meat trade non-viable.. Our fight takes us from the highlands of Scotland to the prolific trade in horses in Italy and beyond. The home farm in France, Refuge Epona is home to over 60 rescued equines and our team of bilingual volunteers help to co ordinate the rescue of horses from all corners of Europe. All funds raised are spent directly on the ponies and horses in care an any other equine in need of our help.
