The Oasis Centre is a community day centre which offers a range of welfare services to people living and sleeping rough in Gorton who are experiencing severe, multi-stranded and complex social problem

  • Mission statement

    The Centre is a lifeline for over 100 people a week including families living on benefits, the homeless, ex-offenders, refugees, asylum seekers, victims of abuse, people with very low levels of basic skills, people with debt issues and people with mental and physical health issues. Gorton is one of the most deprived communities in England and the area which The Oasis Centre serves is ranked within the bottom 1. 26% of neighbourhoods in the latest government Indices of Multiple Deprivation.

    The Oasis Centre East Manchester aims to:

    • To offer a safe, relevant and reliable place for people in need to access help, emergency provision and support.
    • Emergency Provision: providing nutritious emergency food packs, clothing packs, toy packs and providing a free cafĂ© with hot nutritious breakfast and lunches to individuals and families.
    • Preventative Provision: providing Community Support, Wellbeing Support, Basic Life Skills Training and a Getting Work-Ready scheme.
