Southend Mencap provides educational and enjoyable activities, such as Music, Drama, Sport and Advocacy, to in excess of 700 children and adults with learning disabilities every year.
To serve the interests and needs of the learning disabled and those of their parents and carers in Southend, Rochford, Castle Point and Rayleigh.
To stimulate local action where existing provision is insufficient and to advocate for the needs of children and adults with a learning disability.
To raise adequate funds for the achievement of the foregoing objectives and to invite and receive grants, donations, subscriptions and other contributions.
To act always in conformity with the laws governing charities, charitable companies and with the Charities Commission.
Southend Mencap aims to:
