GI Trust

Created in 2010 after our daughter spent 6 months helping at various projects in Jinja, Eastern Uganda. We now support a residential project for 23 former street children and a village primary school

Founded 2010

  • Mission statement

To support projects in Uganda that:

    - are local projects
    - with significant local public benefit
    - which do not already have access to adequate funding
    - which are managed principally by local people
    - with whom we can have an active contact
    - and who are willing to give total financial transparency for the project

  • Aims

    GI Trust aims to:

    • support GI ASCO , which offers residential care and support for 23 former street children, all boys aged 8 to 17, who would otherwise be living rough on the streets of Jinja, Eastern Uganda
    • support Valley View school which provides education to over 250 children, including residential facilities for a small number of HIV/AIDS orphans, in Nakabango, a village 20 minutes outside Jinja
