Embrace Child Victims of Crime

Mending hearts, minds & families, 'Embrace CVOC' is the national charity for child victims of crime, providing practical & emotional support to help them to recover from the trauma experienced.

Founded 1993

  • Mission statement

Embrace CVOC is the only national children's charity which is singularly focused on supporting young victims of crime who have suffered life-changing trauma as a result of serious crime, including homicide in the UK, The Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

Established since 1993, it's aim is to provide practical and emotional support for any young victim up to the age of 18 years. The charity receives referrals from police forces across the country seeking support for children, and also works proactively to provide educational materials and initiatives that help to reduce the statistics of young persons becoming a victim of crime in the first place.

The awards that Embrace CVOC offers to child victims of crime are assessed on an individual basis to best meet the needs of the child, whether it be a small treat in the form of a gift voucher to simply put a smile on their face or replace a stolen item, an experience day activity, theme park vouchers, a UK Family break, bespoke counselling, or in the most serious of cases, a flagship life changing holiday to DisneyLand Paris or DisneyWorld Florida.

    Registered charity number 1043101

  • Aims

Embrace Child Victims of Crime aims to:

    • To provide practical support for young victims of crime. These awards range from cheer-up gifts, replacing a stolen item, experience days, family breaks or life changing Disney holidays.
    • To provide emotional support for young victims of crime. We have developed and successfully piloted a bespoke counselling service for children aged 12-18 years who have been traumatised by crime.
    • To provide emotional support through a bespoke befriending scheme offering more of an informal service that children can use when they need guidance, mentoring or a good listener whom they can chat to
    • To work proactively to provide educational materials and resources that help to reduce the statistics of children becoming a victim of crime.
