Re-Instate offer supported employment opportunities to adults with mental health problems, so helping to regain lost confidence and improve work and social skills in a sheltered and supportive manner
At Re-Instate, we believe that work can act as the conduit to long-term well-being and social inclusion. Through supported employment, Re-Instate can help adults with mental health problems take control of their lives and reach their full potential.
Re-Instate operates a sheltered workshop in Erith, Kent, where those who attend, the "trainees" are helped to work as part of a team, completing real commercial jobs from local firms, all the while developing the work and social skills that will help to build self-esteem and confidence for the future.
Every individual will have a vocational plan, and training and development will be tailored around their needs, abilities and aspirations. For some, attending Re-Instate is the pinnacle of their work ambition, and this is recognised and applauded. For others, development is to look towards work placements, work shadowing and ultimately, the goal of open employment. This may take time, and the support of Re-Instate staff to work closely with a prospective employer to break down potential barriers, but through opportunity comes the possibility of empowerment and long term well-being.
