Mission statement
Dorset Reading Partners offer regular, sustained, one-to-one support to children who are reluctant to read or who need a little extra help and support. They talk, share books and play games together in weekly half hour sessions, in order to increase children's confidence and motivation, as well as their communication and literacy skills. Our reading partners act as mentors to these young people, helping and encouraging them, and enabling them to feel that they can succeed.
-
Aims
Dorset Reading Partners aims to:
- Advance the education of volunteers by the provision of training and advice.
- Advance the education and self-confidence of children in Dorset, particularly by helping them with their reading development.
