We provides dance and cultural opportunities for disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people (Particularly girls) aged 3 - 19 years and 25 years with a disability across Leeds to improve there health and wellbeing

    DAZL starts where children and young people are at. By offering fun, relevant and accessible dance opportunities we aim to improve health and wellbeing for disadvantaged and vulnerable 3-19 years and 25year olds with a disability (Particularly girls) in Leeds.

    DAZL inspires and enables through five strategic strands of work:

    Participation - engaging inactive children and young people in physical activity and dance.
    Community Leadership - engaging and empowering local communities
    Partnerships - supporting and delivering the wider health agenda.
    Artistic Development & Progression.
    Celebrating Communities & performance opportunities

  • Aims

    Dance Action Zone Leeds (DAZL) aims to:

    • To improve the mental and physical health of children and young people aged 3 – 19 years, particularly girls, through dance as physical activity in disadvantaged communities of Leeds
    • To reduce health inequalities, improving the health and wellbeing of children, young adults with disabilities up to 25 years, families and the wider community throughout Yorkshire
