Lincolnshire Greyhound Trust

LGT find homes for retired greyhounds as pets throughout Lincolnshire and surrounding areas and promote the breed at events each weekend.

Founded 2004

  • Mission statement

Lincolnshire Greyhound Trust is a charity set up to try to find homes for retired racing greyhounds as pets.

Greyhounds are a great breed of dog and LGT promote the breed each weekend at various supermarkets, street collections and shows.

The majority of our greyhounds come from racing owners and trainers who trust us to find them better homes than they can, but we do rescue the occasional one from our local pounds when they are struggling.

LGT has no paid employees and is run entirely by volunteers.

Since our formation in December 1998 we have rehomed over 1,000 different greyhounds.

  • Aims

    Lincolnshire Greyhound Trust aims to:

    • placing retired racing greyhounds into permanent loving homes as pets
    • promoting the suitability of greyhounds as pets to the general public
    • providing assistance to pet greyhound owners, where necessary, in order to ensure that greyhounds remain in a loving, home environment.
