  • Mission statement

    WFDA is committed to assisting disadvantaged children, young people and adults with dyslexia to achieve greater independence and a better quality of life in our local community of Waltham Forest and surrounding area of East London. WFDA is the only organisation of its kind in the local area. Through our support we are helping to remove educational barriers and delivering achievement We offer advice and support as well as promoting the understanding of dyslexia through our help line and website. Our core services include affordable adult and child screenings; accessible, affordable quality tuition in touch typing, literacy and numeracy, dyslexia awareness days, conferences and public speaking. Free week long transition summer club for children with dyslexia/dyspraxia to prepare them for the move from primary into secondary education. 'Next Step' class for young adults with dyslexia considering returning to education or training. We provide a support network for families.

    Waltham Forest Dyslexia Association aims to:

    • Advance the education of children, young people and adults with dyslexia in the London Borough of Waltham Forest and surround area. To support them to develop confidence and independence.
    • The provision of advice and support to those with dyslexia, their families and those who work with them. Providing a lifeline to people who feel they have no where to turn and no one to talk to.
    • The promotion and improved understanding of dyslexia to enable educational professionals and families to implement early intervention programmes to address the confidence of dyslexia person
