Exeter Shilhay Community Limited provide accomodation, support and opportunity to over 350 people per year who are homeless or vulnerably housed in and around Exeter and East Devon.

  • Mission statement

    Shilhay Community exist to enable people who are homeless or vulnerably housed to access and sustain good quality housing, education, training, employment and opportunity in order to improve their own quality of life.
    This includes supporting adults with an addiction, mental or physical health difficulties and those with a criminal record. The charity works actively for the relief of poverty, working hard to remove barriers both human and physical to allow individuals to fulfil their duties as citizens and their obligations to employers.

  • Aims

    Exeter Shilhay Community Limited aims to:

    • To provide provide good quality housing/ accommodation, education, training, employment and meaningful occupation opportunities that are suitable for service users.
    • To provide health and well being support to those who are homeless/ vulnerably housed, to enable individuals to carry out day to day tasks and to remove any barriers to development where possible.
    • To actively work towards reducing homelessness through engaging with individuals in street outreach as soon as possible and signposting individuals to services, working jointly with other providers
    • To engage individuals, companies, groups, funders, partners and others in a sustainable community approach to homelessness, and raising awareness of homelessness locally.
    • To continually look to improve services and seek new opportunities for those the charity work for.
