Home-Start Butser

Home-Start Butser is based and working in East Hampshire, giving practical and emotional support to families with young children through a critical time in their lives.

Founded 1998

  • Mission statement

Home-Start Butser is a local charity that provides practical, emotional and non-judgmental support to families with young children who are experiencing difficulties coping with daily life. Supporting parents in situations as diverse as isolation, bereavement, multiple births, illness, disability or who are just finding parenting a struggle, our trained volunteers help build confidence within the family home and work to prevent further family breakdown. This personalised service is highly valued by the families who choose to accept our support; it is not available to them from any other public or private agency. For many parents this help comes at a critical time and is a lifeline for them and for their family.

  • Aims

    Home-Start Butser aims to:

    • To prevent cruelty or maltreatment of children.
    • To safeguard, protect and preserve the good health, both mental and physical, of children and parents of children.
    • To promote the education of the public in better standards of child care.
    • To relieve sickness, poverty and need amongst children and parents of children.
