Circles South West

Circles South West is a community-based program, which works closely with statutory services helping known sex offenders live offence-free lives.

Founded 2010

  • Mission statement

Circles South West's object is to promote the rehabilitation, treatment, education and care of persons who have committed or are likely to commit offences, particularly sexual offences. It does this by supporting offenders and holding them to account for their actions. Circles South West sets up Circles of Support and Accountability (COSA) in Gloucs, Wilts, Dorset, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. Its work is monitored by the national parent body, Circles UK, which is responsible to the Ministry of justice. COSA Circles consist of 4 to 6 trained and supervised volunteers who meet regularly with the offender over a long period. Circles have been found to reduce reoffending significantly.
