Speakers Trust is the UK’s leading public speaking and communication skills training charity. We exist to support communities by giving them the skills, confidence a and expertise to speak in public.

    Our Vision - A society where everybody has the skills, confidence and desire to speak in public.

    Our Mission - To promote the lifetime benefits of effective public speaking and communication skills through campaigning, training and community involvement.

    Our Objectives
    Through the development and delivery of courses, we will:
    •Provide high quality training in public speaking, especially for those who have least access to it
    •Consolidate our position as the leading provider of communication skills programmes in the not-for-profit and social enterprise sector
    •Work with other not-for profit organisations and social enterprises to deliver effective training

    Through our work in the speakers clubs community, we will:
    •Promote the benefits of speakers clubs and to support their growth
    •Encourage and assist in the creation of new speakers clubs, especially in ‘hard to reach’ communities
    •Work with not-for-profit organisations and social enterprises in the development of an accreditation and training scheme for volunteer speakers

    Through our campaigning, independently and in partnership with others, we will:
    •Place the development of speaking and communication skills at the heart of policy and practice in schools and colleges, in communities and in the workplace
    •Raise public awareness about the lifetime benefits of being an effective, confident and enthusiastic communicator
    •Be a centre of excellence for research and practice development in speaking and communicatiion skills.

    Speakers Trust Limited aims to:

    • Through our work in the speakers’ clubs community we will help establish new clubs, focusing on ‘hard to reach’ communities and develop accreditation and training schemes for volunteer speakers.
    • Through the development and delivery of courses, we will cement our position as the leading communication skills provider with not-for-profits and social enterprises and increase access to training.
    • Through our campaigning, independently and in partnership, we will increase awareness of communication skills, placing them at the heart of policy and practice and acting as a centre of excellence.
