GUTS - Fighting Bowel Cancer

Working in the south of England to improve bowel cancer survival rates through better screening, detection and treatment.

Founded 1983

  • Mission statement

Our goal is to improve bowel cancer survival rates through more effective screening, detection and treatment, and by raising awareness of the disease.

GUTS funds a Family Colorectal Cancer Clinic (FCCC) based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital which offers advice and screening to people at a high risk of developing bowel cancer. We have also funded equipment and facilities to help improve the care and treatment of bowel cancer patients at the RSCH. The charity also funds research into new ways of detecting bowel cancer and into better ways of treating the disease and most importantly, working to improve the early detection of the disease.

  • Aims

GUTS - Fighting Bowel Cancer aims to:

    • To improve bowel cancer survival rates.
    • To raise awareness of the disease, its causes and early symptoms; greater awareness results in early detection, which is crucial in improving overall survival rates.
