King Henry’s Walk Garden (KHWG) is a multi award-winning, volunteer-run, organic community garden on the border of Islington and Hackney, Northeast London

  • Mission statement

    We exist to provide a resource that improves the lives, wellbeing, education and sense of community of local residents in Islington and Hackney. We promote organic principles, and maintain the garden in such a way as to maximise its appeal to wildlife. We give people the chance to learn about gardening, food production wildlife and the natural world- with a particular focus on offering opportunities to young people under 25. We also offer access to a valuable area of green space for residents in one of the least green areas of London.

  • Aims

    Friends Of King Henry's Walk Garden aims to:

    • To act as a resource for young people up to the age of 25 living in Islington by providing advice and assistance and organising programmes of physical, educational and other activities
    • To manage community gardens for the recreation and education of the inhabitants of Islington, and to promote organic principles.
    • To provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for local residents.
