    At the heart of our work is the principle that civic society is most effective when its citizens are connected with the institutions and individuals who represent them in the democratic process. We aim to strengthen parliamentary democracy and encourage greater public involvement in politics.

  • Aims

    Hansard Society Limited aims to:

    • To deliver publications, events and advocacy to stimulate engagement in democracy and to provide opportunity for debate on both formal political processes and generic political issues.
    • To undertake high quality rigorous research to develop challenging but realistic policy recommendations for reform of legislative scrutiny and constitutional processes.
    • To examine public attitudes towards politics and consider how engagement between the public and our democratic structures and institutions can be enhanced.
    • To provide people of all ages with the opportunity to learn about parliamentary democracy, the ways in which they can get involved, to improve their understanding of, and engagement in politics.
