Brighton Belle - The 5BEL Charitable Trust

The Trust is restoring to mainline use a complete five car Brighton Belle train. It is one of the most significant rail restoration projects ever carried out in Britain.

    To highlight the importance of Britain's electric railway heritage through the return of the Brighton Belle to mainline service, to educate the public about the history and development of electric traction in Britain and to establish an operational electric rail museum of national significance.

    Brighton Belle - The 5BEL Charitable Trust aims to:

    • To educate the public about the importance and development of Britain's electric rail heritage.
    • To return the Brighton Belle - the world's only electric Pullman train, built in 1932 - to mainline service. This Art Deco icon represents an important step in Britain's transport heritage.
    • To establish an electric railway museum which can house both operational and static vehicles representative of the development of electric traction in Britain..
