JENGA UK provides financial administration to its sister charity, JENGA Uganda. Formed in Mbale in 2005, JENGA Uganda serves needy and disadvantaged communities targeting water, health and education.

  • Mission statement

    The mission statement of JENGA Community Development Outreach (CDO) in Uganda is; sustainable development through educated and empowered communities, improving the quality of life of the vulnerable and disadvantaged.

    JENGA CDO is a not for profit charity focusing on the poorest of communities targeting women, children and orphans. It engages in a diverse range of community development activities such as; Child Sponsorship of Primary and Secondary schooling, Agricultural projects, Community Health Training, HIV Programme, Hospital and Prison projects, Literacy and Vocational Training, Street Children projects, Water projects and Women's Education programmes.

    JENGA CDO is committed to the principles of partnership, sustainability, empowerment, justice and cultural sensitivity. These values guide JENGA CDO in what it does, but also help identify what it will not do. These are JENGA CDO's guiding principles.

    JENGA CDO targets 3 particularly needy communities within the Mbale area of eastern Uganda; 2 of these are urban slum communities and 1 is a very poor rural community. JENGA CDO serves a population area of 30,000 people.
