Hospices of Hope

Hospices of Hope is a UK charity dedicated to relieving the suffering of terminally ill adults and children in Romania and the surrounding countries. Working through their Romanian partner, Hospice Casa Sperantei, Hospices of Hope has been pioneering hospice services since 1992, and their flagship hospice in Brasov is now regarded as a Centre of Excellence in South-Eastern Europe. Hospice Casa Sperantei provides holistic care in hospitals, in patient’s own homes and in their in-patient unit; as well as palliative care training for doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Hospices of Hope is now supporting the development of hospice care in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, in the Republic of Moldova through Hospice Angelus and in Serbia through BELhospice. Hospices of Hope also reach out to terminally ill adults and children in Romania’s rural areas including patients with HIV. The educational programmes extend to Macedonia, Albania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Hungary and Montenegro.
