Founded 2006

  • Mission statement

Our mission is to ensure that women and children seeking asylum in the UK are treated with justice and dignity. Our vision is a society in which women’s human rights are respected and in which they are safe from persecution.
We aim to empower women who seek refuge here to speak for themselves wherever possible and to use the media, public events and lobbying opportunities to communicate their experiences.

  • Aims

Women For Refugee Women aims to:

    • Women for Refugee Women aims to enable women who have fled persecution and come to the UK seeking safety to speak out about their own experiences.
    • We aim to increase understanding among the public of the experiences of refugee women , particularly women who have fled gender based persecution such as sexual violence and honour crimes
    • We aim to create a more just asylum process, by lobbying politicians and policy makers on the need to give women a fair hearing and the need to protect survivors of persecution.
