  • Mission statement

    Thanet Community Development Trust, and the organisations which flow from it, is socially based and not-for-profit in that any income will be reinvested in the community. Its central aim is to develop and improve the communities in Thanet, however defined. Priority will be given to people and areas identified as somehow disadvantaged.
    ~~~~~
    The aim of the Trust is simple: to improve the lives of Thanet residents who would otherwise have little chance of doing so themselves.
    Our aims as laid out below are achieved through a two-pronged approach, community involvement through TCDT and professional implementation through TCDC’s staff. They are:
    1. To have key strategic alliances that endorse the activities of TCDT.
    2. To provide an excellent facility in support of local community groups and individuals.
    3. To achieve sustainable core funding.
    4. To expand its range of services, income streams and markets.
    5. To raise awareness and ownership of the Trust within the community.
    Achieving these aims will ensure that the Trust continues to serve the community while creating a sound financial base for its own future.
