  • Mission statement

The Farmers Overseas Action Group, "FOAG", is an independent charity founded in 1981. Its mission was to improve the social and economic development of Uganda’s rural communities. Today, FOAG provides support to 12 projects in four key sectors; health, education, economic empowerment and the environment. It has helped thousands of adults and children. FOAG concentrates on small scale constructive action-for-community projects, the type of innovative project that might often seem too small for the targets of larger international charities.

The FOAG management team is made up of experienced and committed volunteers and consequently has very low administration costs with only 8% of the funding going towards administrative functions. Compare this with a sector average of around 30% and you see why FOAG can achieve so much. This puts FOAG in the unique position of being able to offer its kind donors the opportunity for their contributions to go directly to the people they are trying to help. Isn't that all anyone wants when they give money to charity?
