  • Mission statement

The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary at Stonham Barns in Suffolk is the focal point of our organisation and provides a delightful place to visit to watch, study or simply enjoy the company of Owls and other birds of prey.
We have over 100 raptors at the Centre, all housed in spacious aviaries and also flying free in narrated flying displays or demonstrations three times daily from Easter-end of September.
You will also find Red Squirrels, Meerkats, the Raptor Hospital, The Barclays Sensory Garden, an information centre about Owls/ birds of prey, a woodland walk with bird hide, picnic areas and plenty of activities for children including a mini-maze & a purpose built disability play area.
We are fully wheelchair accessible throughout the whole Sanctuary and have an educational centre and a classroom for special groups and schools to use where they will learn all about our native wildlife and countryside.
The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary is supported by voluntary donations and admission charges from members of the visiting public. Please note that we are WHOLLY RELIANT on these donations and admission charges for the upkeep of the Centre, the welfare of the birds and the funding of our many education, conservation and rehabilitation projects. All monies collected are used only for this purpose. We give talks and set projects for schools, agricultural colleges and disenfranchised groups who either visit the Sanctuary or to whom we out-reach, this is the focus of our Education Team
