The Pennies Foundation

The Pennies Foundation has created Pennies, the electronic charity box. By enabling micro-donations, Pennies makes giving to charity affordable and easy when making card and internet transactions.

Founded 2007

  • Mission statement

The Pennies Foundation’s mission is to promote and enable micro-donations to charity through as many electronic payment platforms as possible. Our guiding principles:

Passionate: We have the passion to make a difference to help people in need. That is our fuel to make things happen. Our energy, positivity and enthusiasm keep us committed to and totally focussed on making our vision a reality.

Inclusive: By giving people the choice to give a few pennies simply, quickly, privately and whenever they like, without pressure or commitment, the option to become part of a giving society is truly inclusive.

Pioneering: We are leading the way to find new ways to unlock resources for UK charities at a time when existing sources are under pressure. We encourage our volunteers and trustees to push the boundaries and develop new ways of working.
We are pioneers looking for new ways to forge partnerships and use technology to unlock resources for UK charities at a time when existing sources are under pressure.

Engaging: We can only realise our vision by working closely with organisations that will help us to unlock the potential and transform charitable giving in the UK. We rely on teamwork, trust and openness in our partnerships and strive to ensure that every encounter with The Pennies Foundation is a positive one.

Straightforward: We will do what we say in a simple and direct way. We will act with integrity and be honest, open and ethical in everything we do.
