We are a group of motorcycling enthusiasts and volunteers who provide a free Emergency/Urgent out-of-hours courier service for NHS hospitals and Trusts in Birmingham and surrounding areas.

  • Mission statement

    Midland Freewheelers is a charitable organisation registered with the Charity Commission, Reg No. 1132369. We are a group of motorcycling enthusiasts and volunteers who provide a free Emergency/Urgent out-of-hours courier service for NHS hospitals and Trusts in Birmingham and surrounding areas.

    As a free voluntary service we undertake to deliver any medical item provided it can be carried safely and securely by motorcycle. Medical items can include blood, human tissue, documents, patient records and x-rays etc. Where appropriate they will be carried in accordance with UN3373.

    Operating hours are 19:00 hrs to 06:00 hrs Monday to Friday and 24 hours on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.

    Our Mission is to relieve sickness and protect health by the provision of transport of urgently needed blood, drugs, human tissues and other medical requirements between hospitals and blood transfusion banks, primarily but not exclusively in the Midlands.

    • Our aim is to purchase an additional motorbike to ensure our service continues and is extended throughout the West Midlands
