  • Mission statement

The Second Half of Your Life Foundation has been created to help promote the benefits of active ageing to the residents of North Kensington and the surrounding areas who are over the age of 50. The mission is to get people together doing things they enjoy in a dedicated space: bridging the digital divide, learning new skills to get back to work, rediscovering the pleasures of old hobbies and finding new ones, exercising, and feeling involved through volunteering, mentoring and teaching. The Second Half Centre is a place where together everyone will get more out of life.

Loneliness and social isolation are endemic to modern urban society. The Second Half of Your Life Foundation has been created with the sole purpose of tackling loneliness and isolation. We wish to serve anyone affected by isolation- from the underprivileged, ethnic minorities to those who are just isolated. By creating an integrated social and health care centre, our aim is to foster a sense of belonging and bring a real improvement to the quality of our users lives by encouraging continued learning, teach and volunteer.

By creating a dedicated space in St Charles Centre for Health and Well Being on Exmoor Street in North Kensington,THE SECOND HALF CENTRE will help and encourage successful ageing and give both women and men a place to connect, share and determine how to grow older. The Northwest Primary Care Trust are funding the renovation to further their own mandate of wellness and well being
