Cancer Recovery Foundation UK

We help people across the country to prevent or live with cancer through projects such as the Children’s Cancer Recovery Project. Our approach is positive, practical and empowering.

Founded 2004

  • Mission statement

Cancer Recovery’s mission is to promote research and educate people on the steps they can take to help them prevent cancer; or survive the disease if they have already been diagnosed.

Our research with over 19,000 cancer survivors has given us a wealth of first-hand information, including what strategies and approaches to recovery worked for them. Together they have helped us develop our message of integrative care; using a healthy lifestyle in combination with medical advances to help combat cancer.

Cancer Recovery also runs several services to support people with cancer:

We encourage people to become actively involved in their recovery; considering not only their physical; health but that of their mind and spirit. We do this through our Survival Packs – 86% of people who received one said they changed their lifestyle & their approach to recovery as a result.

We can also help people financially. When people are diagnosed with cancer and have been undergoing treatment for a period, they often lose out on sick pay at work, face threats of eviction, repossession or having utilities cut off. Our Grant Programme provides these individuals with emergency bridge payments, sent directly to the companies or landlords. Removing this financial burden and constant insecurity offers people the time and space they need to focus on recovery.

We also send out gift bags to children suffering from cancer and living in hospitals or hospices for much of the time.
